What to look / listen for
Students arguing that all things are not made of cells because some of the images they analyze do not have evidence of cells.
What to do
If students are still not sure whether all things are made of cells, ask them to look back at the images on the Our Body as a System poster to articulate what cells look like, or how we know there are cells in the examples. Then encourage them to compare the images on the assessment to the images included on the class poster. Ask them to include in writing this comparison and then, using this comparison, explain what they can conclude about whether all things are made of cells.
