What to look / listen for
Listen for students to mention that one way people use fat is to “burn” it. Students should be wondering:
What does “burning fat” really mean?
Where does the matter really go when fat is burned?
What to do
If this idea does not come out, ask students if they have ever heard people say that they are “burning calories” when they exercise, and what do they think that means?
