What to look / listen for
- The solar system started as a disk of gas and dust drawn together by gravity.
- The Sun formed in the center of the disk, and the matter that was left over began to collect to form small planets.
- The small planets collided many times over several millions of years, resulting in the creation of larger planets, asteroids, and comets.
- The collisions became less common as objects in the solar system as the objects had stable orbits.
What to do
Prompt students to go back to the information given in the computer model and what they have figured out in prior lessons as evidence to support the class consensus step-by-step storyboard.
