What to do
If students need extra support you can choose to allow them to use their science notebook or classroom consensus models to help them with this transfer task. You may also choose to help students extract information from the text in the assessment so they can then apply that information to explain and model the new phenomenon, bearing in mind that students will have future opportunities to demonstrate their use of these practices.

Students need to interpret the results for Dr. Chen’s research study conducted in 1928. They need to understand this information in order to explain on the Goldfish Assessment how the trait of coloration in goldfish is inherited.
