What to look / listen for
Look for a line of new questions emerging from the sources of data they investigated today, including any of the following ideas:
how similar internal structures are in the penguins (or in other organisms)
how internal structures might be related to function
how the patterns in the internal structures they have in common could help us figure out which species of penguins may have had a common ancestor
What to do
2.B.1 Ask questions about ancient ancestors of modern penguins based on close analysis of patterns in the body structure and behavior data for modern penguins and Pedro; describe the type of data that would be needed in order to answer some of these questions.
What to do
If you see no internal structure-related or bone-related questions, it is appropriate to leave a question on the sticky note such as this: Did you have any questions based on what you think might be similar or different in the shape or size of internal structures in different species of penguins?
