11.A Construct and revise an explanation using a model to explain why a change to the environment (cause) leads to a predominance of certain genetic variations of traits in a green lizard population that increase some individuals’ probability of surviving and reproducing (effect).
What to look / listen for
This is a transfer task to give students an opportunity to use the three dimensions to make sense of their General Model for Natural Selection using a new phenomenon. Allow students to choose how to share their understanding through oral response, written response, pictorial response, or a combination of both. What to do
This is meant to be a summative assessment task for this lesson set, and it gives you a grading opportunity. The task includes a scoring guide located in Key: Green Anole Lizard Explanation. Scoring guides are meant to highlight important ideas students should include in their responses.
